Mother’s Day is Upon Us, Have Some Fun

Hello, and welcome back to the Synergy Homecare of Yuma blog! In previous posts, we have gone over all sorts of tips for making sure that your senior loved one receives the best homecare services available. Homecare is an essential service for millions of seniors across the United States and it is important to choose a homecare provider that is able to meet the needs of the individual as well as the family. In today’s post, however, we felt that we should take a departure. With Mother’s Day in full swing, we wanted to go over some ways that you can make sure that the mother’s in your life know that they are appreciated, loved, and respected. What Gifts Can You Give This Mother’s Day?

When Mother’s Day rolls around, most people’s first instinct is to buy flowers or a card or make a reservation at a restaraunt. While these are all acceptable gifts for Mother’s Day, the time you spend with your mother on this special day can be the best gift of all. Below, we have listed a few activities that you can do with your mother to show just how much you care.

  • Dinner: Instead of going out to eat with your mother this Mother’s Day, why not plan a home cooked meal instead? Here at Synergy Homecare, we have found that while many of our clients enjoy going out to eat because it gives them a chance to get out of the house for the while, the vast majority enjoy it even more when their family and friends come to visit them for dinner. If you’re not the best cook, employ the help of family and friends to make a dinner that your mother will remember fondly.
  • Day Trip: Another excellent option for a Mother’s Day gift is to take your mom and out for a day of fun and adventure. One thing we strive to accomplish at Synergy Homecare is to provide our clients with an easy way to get out of the house so that they don’t get cabin fever. Even if your mother isn’t at her most mobile, a nice trip to a park, museum, or a favorite department store is a great way to break up the monotony of home life. You know your mother best, so choose an activity that you think she would enjoy.
  • Help Around the Home: Even though our caregivers are tasked with making sure that our clients’ homes are clean and well maintained, we are positive that if you showed up to help your mother around the house she would greatly appreciate it. We aren’t suggesting that you visit your mother and just start cleaning, instead make it a visit where cleaning is just one item on the agenda. Simple chores provide a great opportunity to reminisce and catch up.

We hope that this blog has given you some ideas for gifts to give your mother this mother’s day. Because family is such a big part of our job here at Synergy Homecare, we are always looking for opportunities to keep families involved in their loved one’s lives. Take a day, visit your mom, and have some fun.
