Exactly what is non-medical home care?
Non-medical home care addresses what we call ADLs or Activities of Daily Living. The easiest way to explain home care is that it allows a person to age in place instead of having to relocate because things get too tough to handle by themselves or with just family support.
Do you only help senior citizens or do you help other people too?
We help anyone in need. Senior citizens, new mothers, children, those with special needs…anyone who needs help. We have no restrictions regarding who we can help at SYNERGY HomeCare of Yuma.
Does Medicare or Medical Insurance cover non-medical home care?
Because Medicare is for medical issues, Medicare does not cover non-medical home care. While there are Long Term Care (LTC) insurance policies available, most medical insurance plans do not have a provision for non-medical home care. We would be more than happy to help you investigate any and all options together.
What if we need someone on a holiday?
We’re available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We help people every single day of the year.
How long is the contract?
We do not have any contracts. You can cancel your service at any time. All we ask for is a 48 hour notice prior to any scheduled visit. We can work within a regularly scheduled care plan or we can work on an as-needed basis, whatever is needed.
How do I know the caregiver(s) that help me are of high quality?
We are extremely picky about who we have on our team. All caregivers are W-2 employees and are heavily vetted, screened and subjected to a national criminal background check. Our team must adhere to a random drug testing policy and have a good driving record as well. We do everything we can to ensure that the people who help you are the kind of people we’d want to help us and every second of time we’re with you is insured, unlike 1099 caregivers. If there is ever the slightest concern with your caregiver(s) we make an immediate change.
Will I have the same caregiver each visit?
There are a few factors involved in scheduling but we always try to be consistent with our staff. We do everything we can to keep the same team members with you whenever possible.
Why would I use SYNERGY HomeCare instead of a caregiver off of craigslist or something like that?
To be a member of the SYNERGY HomeCare of Yuma team, all employees must be certified in CPR, First Aid, have a clean TB test and pass a comprehensive National Criminal Background check. All employees are W-2, bonded, insured, must have a clean driving record, a valid driver license and current automobile insurance. Our team is also subject to random drug screening. We don’t cut corners when it comes to our team. If you’ve decided to go anther route other than an accredited company, please be sure to at least run a Criminal Background check before allowing someone in your home to help you.
